The first time I saw...
Jul. 15th, 2005 11:09 amThe first time I saw...hmmm. I've written about the first time I saw Etain. I've written about the first time I saw Keelia. I've written about the first time I saw Michael. So. Something different?
The first time I saw a microwave, I blew it up. Oh, not immediately. There were instructions. I followed them. Or at least, I thought I followed them. It's possible that I got bored and didn't follow them precisely. I'm still not sure what happened. My apartment came equipped with it, you understand. I never would have bought one on my own. I wouldn't have known I should buy one on my own. But there it was. I do remember I read enough to understand it's purpose in warming food. Now, theoretically, I could just summon almost any food I want. I could definitely heat it with magic. But as I was attempting to live as a human, I thought "I should do this the human way."
I wanted soup. I'd bought soup at the store. In a can. I put the soup can in the microwave and set it for five minutes, like it said to do on the can. It could not have been more than 30 seconds later when there was a horrendous explosion. Fire crackling from the can and, a very loud noise, and the door blown off the microwave and soup everywhere.
I've avoided the contraption ever since.
